Today marked the official start of my cybersecurity bootcamp at Ironhack! The day began with a small introduction, where we got an overview of what to expect in the coming weeks. The instructors set some ground rules, emphasising that we are expected to put in additional work outside of class hours. We will be working both individually and in groups on various projects throughout the program.
Course Expectations & Assessments
We also covered important information regarding attendance and grading.
At the end of the bootcamp, we will take both a theoretical and a practical test to evaluate our understanding and skills in cybersecurity.
Introduction to Our Professor & Learning Platforms
After the initial briefing, we joined a call with our professor, who introduced himself and explained a bit about our class structure. He also walked us through the different platforms we will be using throughout the bootcamp, including TryHackMe.
Following the presentation, we had a Q&A session where we could clarify any doubts. During this discussion, I learned that, apparently, smoking during class is allowed.
One of the highlights of the session was learning that this bootcamp will prepare us for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam, which is a great stepping stone in the cybersecurity field.
To support our learning, Ironhack will provide us with premium accounts on various cybersecurity platforms, giving us access to top-tier resources and hands-on exercises.
Overall, it was an exciting first day, and I can’t wait to dive deeper into the world of cybersecurity!
