I’m writing this post on Tuesday. Yesterday, I missed most of class because of a widespread power outage in Portugal and Spain. I lost electricity from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM. I was a bit frustrated about missing class. Maybe I should consider buying a generator for my PC and router.

Anyway, yesterday was our mid-bootcamp assessment. It went pretty well for the whole cohort. I only missed one question, which I really should have gotten right. It was one of those tricky multiple-choice questions. I had to choose the most commonly used standard for LAN networks. I knew it was 802 because of standards like 802.3 and 802.11, but there was an option labelled “803” that tricked me into thinking I was choosing 802.3! Morning distraction!

After the assessment, we started getting into malware analysis. I had just begun working on a lab for it when, about half an hour in, the power went out…
