We started with a news segment today. I was with Jacobo, Simon and Alfonso and we decided to all present the news in segments. I do prefer it this way instead of just one person presenting the whole thing.

Today was all about Powershell and revision. Kevin introduced us to some basics and prepared us for the lab. As I had already finished, I did the optional lab for today: Hacking with PowerShell.

It was a fun lab because it made me do some research for what commands to use. I learned a bunch of them:

Get-ChildItem
Get-Service
Get-Location
Invoke-WebRequest
Get-NetIPAddress

The I learned about Select-object which pulls out the properties from the output of a cmdlet and creates a new object. Another useful one is Where-object which is to select objects that match a very specific value.

I did the room in a little less than an hour, so after that I decided to join Mathieu in another CTF. It was called: GLITCH

This one was about a vulnerable web application which is not my strongest suit. I needed to know about Javascript and how APIs work. Both of those are things that I want to work at in the future.

Even the last part wasn’t very straightforward. I had to look for a Firefox profile that was zipped so I had to use the tar command. It took me a while to fill my report on github because I was having a hard time understanding some concepts.

In the afternoon I decided to allocate some time to do some optional rooms that I hadn’t finished yet.

I finished the Python for Pentesters room and also Hacking with PowerShell that I didn’t finish in the morning. I still have three left to do, but I will probably leave them for after the bootcamp.

Today was our last day of content and I am a bit sad about it. I know we still have one week left but I feel like time flew.

This weekend, though, will be for full revision. I have to get ready for the assessment on Monday and the practical tests on malware analysis, SOC and pentesting. And on Thursday is the final group project. I chose pentesting, of course. Friday is the final presentation!
